pump??

Question
I may have emailed you last year, but I finally found out that my 1/2hp pump does not work anymore and no parts can be found for it.  I live in a small town and this system was already setup when I moved in.  My psi is 35 as I only live 1 block away from the water tower.  The system is hooked in right after the meter in the basement.  Right now there are 4 rainbird maxipaw sprinklers per zone.  I would like to replace these with new rotor type sprinklers.  So if I replaced these could I get away with not using a pump again?  I was thinking the system line is 1" or 1 1/4".  At the pump is either 1 1/2 or 2".  Any if will help.  Thanks

Answer
Hey Landon, if the current system is working with the Maxi-paws, then if you change to rotor heads you will be fine. The rotor heads will actually use less water to operate, but will give you just as far of throw. For instance, the Msi-paws are probably using about 3 gallons per minute, and if you have 4 on a zone, you are using 12 gallons per minute. On a rotor head, you could put a nozzle in it that only uses 1 gallon per minute, thus you would only use 4 gallons per minute with 4 heads. I would suggest the Hunter PGP-ADJ rotor heads. Good luck and have a great day.
