I bought this plant at our local church fete ,but the plant seller did not know the name of it . Could you possibly identify it for me
Much obliged . I live in Scotland ,near Edinburgh.

Plant types vary from area to area...Plants that grow in one area do not necessarily grow in other areas of the country (world)...Flowering plants are classified by the structure of their flower...
I have looked at numerous plants similar to yours...I could not find any to exactly match it but I found one similar...Your plant looks like it is in the amaryllis family Genus Haemanthus...These are bulb type plants...The flower looks similar...Type Haemanthus humilis into your search engine and see what you think...It looks like it could be variety 'hirsutus'
