How do I care for my jalapeno pepper plant in the fall and winter?

Question
I have my jalapeno plants potted outside on my deck, what do I do with them in the winter months? Can I move them inside or just cover them outside? I live in MO, so our winters can get pretty bad! HELP!!!

Answer
I grow jalapenos commercially in northern Thailand. Pepper plants like sun, warm weather, plant food and water. They are not like trees and don't replenish themselves very well. If you can meet the above requirements you might be successful. If you have all of the above in a green house I suggest that you start new seedlings. In the green house the insects are very hard to control. The green house is very conducive to bugs and plant diseases.

Good luck.
