jalepenos and anaheim peppers

Question
I received two of those toppsy turvey things were you grow vegetables up-side down, in one i put the jalapenos and the other the Anaheim.  The soil I used is Miracle-Gro Plant and Vegetable Soil with continuos release plant food.  Its been 4 days and now all i have is two sticks.  I followed the instructions on the Toppsy Turvey box.  It said it grows great peppers.  Was it a bad idea to use the up-side down growers or the soil or both.  I live in San Diego and it has been real humid lately, and the plants get full sun.  Please help me this isn't the first time ive tried to grow peppers.  Oh yeah, the seedlings I bought were in a 4.5" pot and had 6 to 8 leaves on them.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Answer
Ian:

I am not familiar with growing upside down. Try growing up right. Make sure that you don't over water. Water about ever 2-3 days. The Miracle Gro should be OK.

Let me know if you make any progress by uprighting them.

Best wishes.
