How do you store spaghetti squash

Question
This is our first time planting spaghetti squash. We are starting already to get a lot of it. How do you store it? I know with regular yellow squash you can freeze it, but what do I do with this?

Answer
Martha:

Squash are a lot like watermellons and other related plants. The ripening occurs from the inside out. Professional processors use a coating to keep the oxygen off the surface this is not practical for home use.

The only way you can retard to ripening is to keep it as cold as possible and just above freezing. Wrapping with a rapping material is not advisable. I have never tried to freeze a squash. You might want to try this and then thaw it and see how it taste when you cook it. Let me know if you try this how it works out.

Best wishes and successful growing.
