Wedding bouquet with Tulips

Question
I'd like to carry Tulips for my wedding, but I'm not sure of what colors they come in. My wedding colors are Blue and Brown. Can you give me some ideas on how I can put them together. Thanks. :)

Answer
Hi Celeste,

Thank you for your great question and also thank you for waiting for me to respond to you. You caught me in the middle of valentines.
Your wedding sounds really beautiful. I love the color combination. First of all, when is your wedding and in what part of the country?

Tulips are available all year now, but can be a little pricey certain times of the year. Their season mainly starts in the end of fall and goes through Mother's day. They come in tons of colors, shapes and sizes.
Are you planning on designing your own flowers or are you having a florist do them for you? If you wanted to try to do them yourself I can give you some pointers along that line as well. As for the colors that tulips come in, they are in basically all but blues. There are white, creme, green, yellows, pinks, purples, etc. They come doubles, parrots, ruffled, fringed, etc. Here in Washington state, we have huge greenhouse and field producers of tulips.

If I were you, I would have the creme colored tulips or the green and creme parrot tulips for your color combination. If you are getting married in the heat of the summer, you might want to consider another flower, tulips can get a little tired on a hot summer day. When they are more in season they are much stronger.

If I could get a little more info from you about your date, etc. I would love to give you some other flower ideas for your color combo. I have done some beautiful blue and chocolate weddings - Hydrangeas and chocolate cymbidium orchids, chocolate cosmos and blue delphinium, leucadendron foliage with blue hydrangeas. Gorgeous!
Thank you for your question, feel free to send me back some more info and I can guide you better. Sincerely, Carin Diaz
