sunflowers

Question
Are all sunflowers yellow?  If not what other colors are they?

Answer
Hi Heather,

The sunflowers, or Helianthus annuus, is an annual plant native to the Americas in the family Asteraceae, with a large flowering head or inflorescence.  The term "sunflower" is also used to refer to all plants of the genus Helianthus, many of which are perennial plants.  Available in many colors, though the yellow is most commonly recognized; you can find sunflowers in shades from white, pink, yellow, orange, burnt umber... to nearly black.  For the widest selection, try searching for seeds through larger providers.

Best,
Gina
