orchids

Question
Can you help me identify this orchid? My grandmother had an orchid that someone gave her. The person she got it from said it was called a Ground Orchid but when I went to look it up I found out there are many kinds of ground orchids and when I looked at the photos they had none looked like the one my grandmother had. The one she had grew on long trailing stems the stems were green but they looked white due to the papery coating on the outside of them. The stems had a set of two leaves every two to three inches down the stem. These orchids bloom tiny flowers (about .25 inches) in large clusters originating where the leaves meet the stem. The flowers are an orangish-red color and have no smell. It is a very pretty plant especially in a hanging basket which is how my grandmother had it planted. My grandmother lives in Florida and it seemed to grow very well there up under her oak tree (the oak was an approx. 30' tree).

Answer

Orange-red Orchid
It would be helpful to see a picture of the plant in bloom. It is difficult to go through the hundreds of orchids using the description to find the exact one.
I did come up with EPIDENDRUM EMBREEI.
It has everything you described except the white papery coating on the stems.
I would like to know if this is the match.
