Rosemary – Old Plants

Q: I have some rosemary that has been in the ground about five years and it is huge and beautiful. I noticed this year it started flowering and the limbs that flowered died. What should I do? Is this normal?

A: Rosemary typically lasts about five years before becoming woody and rangy. Cut back the dead stuff and see if what’s left is attractive, if not, replace it.
