Grown mainly for its velvety gray succulent leaves, this Australian native shrub can reach 3 feet high and wide.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
Fuzzy, silvery foliage. Fast growth. Grow in a container or as an annual.
Care:
Moderately fertile, well-drained soil in dappled shade. Indoors, it needs full light but shade from hot sun. Keep just moist in winter.
Propagation:
Sow seed at 66° to 75°F when ripe. Divide in mid- or late spring, or take stem-tip cuttings any time.
Problems:
Infrequent, but sometimes affected by mealybugs, spider mites, leaf spots, and root rot.
