The flowers are like dark fuchsia fireworks in a sky of purple. It is a great substitue for purple smoke bush ( Cotinus coggygria ) in the South. Noteworthy Characteristics:  Glossy, dark foliage; fuchsia colored flowers. Care:  Provide part shade and well-drained soil. Propagation:  Using bottom heat, root semi-ripe cuttings in summer. Plants may also be started from fresh seed. Problems:  Generally trouble-free.
