Niche Article Marketing Tips - The Benefits Of Writing For A Niche

When you start to doing article submissions, you might be wondering what type of articles you should be writing. A bigger question is: "Who are you writing for?"

That's a great question, and this article will help you to better focus on the niche you're writing for. This article offers niche article marketing tips to help you get the best results for your efforts.

Let's start at the beginning--you have a website, and you want to get more visitors to your site, so you start doing article marketing.

Your website is on a certain topic--maybe it's your business website or a website on a particular topic that you are interested in.

Whatever the subject matter of your website, your articles should be on the same general topic. If your business is landscape gardening, then your articles will be about landscape gardening. That is your niche.

Does the topic of your articles really matter?

Sometimes people ask me that, and I always tell them that it matters tremendously. The reason why some people are tempted not to write for a particular niche associated with their website is that they think that the link in the resource box is the only thing that matters. As long as they have the link going to their site, then they think the article can be on any topic under the sun.

Actually, this isn't true--for best results, your article always needs to be written for the same niche as your website. There are two reasons for this:

1 - You have a link going to your website from the resource box. Did you know that that link is more valuable if the content on the page is on a related topic to the website you're linking to?

The content on the page gives context to the link. It tells Google, "This page about landscape gardening thinks that this other web page (your website) about landscape gardening is valuable."

In Google's eyes, the link counts as sort of a "vote" for the website that's being linked to, and the "vote" goes into the calculation of the importance of the website being linked to. The more important that Google deems the website, the higher the website ranking for the particular keyword terms associated with the site.

So, a "vote" from a page on a similar topic holds more authority than a "vote" from a page that is unrelated.

For this reason, the topic of your article really does matter. Your articles should be written for the same niche as your website, to get the most value from the link in the resource box.

2 - If your article is on the same topic as your website, readers are much more likely to click the link in your resource box.

For example, if your website is about German Shepherd dogs, and your article is about German Shepherd dogs, then people who are drawn to read your article would also be interested in looking at a website about German Shepherds. That means that they will be likely to click the link in your resource box going back to your German Shepherd website.

However, if your website is about German Shepherds, but you write an article about the first Star Wars movie, the people who will be reading your article will be interested in Star Wars. When they see the resource box which talks about German Shepherds, they won't have the motivation to click the link.

Use Your Articles To Connect With Your Target Market

Your articles are a great vehicle for making contact with your target market--that group of people who is most likely to be interested in your business, products or website.

In order to catch your target market's attention, you will write articles that satisfy their questions and that give them helpful information. By focusing your writing efforts on covering the needs of your target readers, you will be positioning yourself to be an expert in your niche. When your target readers have questions, they will naturally think of you as an authority they can trust.

On top of that, you get the most from your article marketing efforts in the search engines by writing for a specific niche. The goal is for your website to get a higher ranking in Google and the other search engines for particular keyword terms associated with your niche. The higher your website ranks, the easier it will be for people from your niche to find your website.
