Growing Stachys (Lamb's Ears)

Growing Stachys (Lamb's Ears)

Pronunciation: stak'iss

Grow Stachys in full sun and evenly moist, well-drained soil. S. byzantina (Lamb's Ear) and S. monieri (Betony) are both drought tolerant once established. In a hot, humid summer, which is typical in the South, Stachys appreciates light afternoon shade. In these conditions, Lamb’s Ear may "mug off.” Cut or pull off affected foliage and new growth will generally reappear in late summer or fall.
