3 different types of violets

Question
hi there I have 3 different kinds of violets (so ive been told thats what they where) They are very tiny plants one is a light green color both stem and leaves and grows upwards, the other 2 look very simialr but feel different, they both have green leaves with a reddish purple stem and grow more flat and outwards but one has a more firmer leaf (the leaves on all of them are fury). I have been told to keep the soil moist and never to get water on the leaves but i do try and keep the soil moist to touch and i always water it from the bottom tray, I water them probably twice a week. They are all currently in a shady place where not alot of sunlight gets to them but I am worried about them since they have come into my care I've had to trim alot of leaves off I think it might be to over watering them because the leaves that have wilted are soggy, am I doing something wrong ? I really dont know how to care for these plants. Another question is do they get flowers and where could  possibly find a pic of these to look at, I could also have pics avail for you to look at if needed. Any help would be appreciated, I dont wanna kill the poor little things. Thanks for ya time

Answer
Hello,

Well it does sound like you have some African Violets on your hands.  My advice would be to increase the light.  For general advice, visit www.optimara.com for care instructions.  For pictures of other violets, use google's picture finder and just enter in "African Violets" to find pictures.  I'm always excited to see new ones bloom where I don't know what their color is.  Read my previous responses to get some good ideas for taking care of them.

Good Luck!

Johnnie
