drooped Jade

Question
Hey  Vito!
I have a 18" tall Crassula (Jade) that some of it's trunks have drooped over to the side.  Is it because it is too top heavy with leaves?  It is healthy and growing and the trunks are not mushy.  Whasssup?

Answer
Hi Halla,

As long as the plant is healthy I wouldn't worry too much about it. Jades tend to get very top heavy and will droop somewhat from the weight of their leaves. I would try increasing the light though, drooping stems can be a sign of lack of light. Stems become weak under low light conditions and can't support their own weight. Brighter light will help make the stems stronger and alleviate some of the drooping.

Good Luck!

Vito
