Can mushrooms harm vegatable garden & ant control

Question
Hello,
I have several raised vegetable garden plots and I am continually pulling small tannish brown mushrooms out.  As the mushrooms are a fungus should I worry about eating the vegetables?

Also, how harmful are ants to vegetable gardens.  I am continually applying seven dust but the ants keep coming back?

Answer
Hi Lesa, Mushrooms are not harming your garden, just don't eat them.
Ants aren't normally a problem, but a symptom of a problem.  Ants often feed on honeydew, the secretions of aphids and scale insects. Check for other insects. Sevin would kill the ants, but you will need to re-apply after rains or thorough watering.  Jim
