MOLD ON ROCK MULCH

Question
I read an answer about white, mold on wood mulch and you suggested rock mulch, which I have, but I am getting this yellow mold that turns tanish color during the day when it dries up.
It was in a low growing juniper, and now is just on the rocks with no plants around. Just don't want it in the shrubs and how to get rid of it in red rock mulch, not wood mulch.
Thanks

Answer
Hi, When you see it, just blast it apart with a water hose.  It's no threat to your plants, just a nuisance.  Repeated applications of a fungicide in the spring may help prevent it, but since it's not hurting anything...why bother? You can minimize future "attacks" but checking each morning and destroying it before it "dries" and spreads additional spores.  Jim
