yucca plant frost damage.

Question

yucca
Hi Tom.
we have a yucca plant that is at least 10 years old.
this winter it suffered from the frost as you can see in the photo, most of the leafs are dried out and damaged,
in the center there are new leafs growing. is it best to leave it to recover, what would happen if i took all the leafs off and just left the new ones growing

regards

Gary.

Answer
Hi Gary,
Thanx for your question and thank you for the picture.  I don't think there would be any adverse effects from trimming off the damaged leaves but you can also leave the plant be for a while as its new leaves begin to emerge.  I think the plant is going to be fine.  It's just going to take it some time to recover.  I hope this helps.
Tom
