Murky Pond Water

Question
My backyard pond was perfectly clear until we had a long very hot spell and it went murky.  I've tried adding laguna pond clearfast but it didn't do anything.  We have floating as well as other plants and fish in the pond.  How do I get my clear water back?

Answer
Lorie, if the pond is less than 1 year old, be patient. If it's older than a year, here is what I would do:
1) Check the pH. Make sure it's between 6 and 8. pH test kits are cheap, usually less than $6.
2) I know you have aquatic plants, but, make sure you have 1/2 to two-thirds of the surface covered.
3) Get yourself a bottle of Accu Clear and a jar of Pond Market Fizzy Kicks. Those two used together cna clear almost any pond up.
4) If the above does not work, look into UV filters. Some of them can get pricy, but, if you are not careful you will spend the same amount in water treatments and still have murcky water.

Hope this helps Lorie,
Brigitte
