water movement

Question
Hi.My 5000gl koi pond(5200g/h external pump w/waterfall, 6000g/h extrn filter) always looks stagnant bec i don't have a bottom drain. To solve this problem i got a submers pump that just elevates/stirrs the bottom water .All great exept now my top water w/falling debris doesn't get sucked into the skimmer.I've tried different positioning of my new bottom pump -nothing changes. What should i do?Is there floating skimmers or may be extra skimmer pump available?

Answer
Hi Victoria,

The filter, or the skimmer, should always be placed directly opposite to the waterfall. In doing that; provided that the pump is adequate to the pond size, there shouldn't be any dead spots.
A bottom drain is not necessary.

Can you send me pictures of the pond?

Measurements would also be of great help.

Carlo
