field of flowers

Question
I HAVE A 1/5 ACRE FIELD WITH TALL GRASS/SAGE BRUSH.  I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT A WILD FLOWER AREA.  ANY SUGGESTIONS ON ONES THAT I CAN EASILY PLANT(of course bulbs aren't an option) AND WILL STILL COME UP THIS YEAR, WILL COME BACK EACH YEAR, AND HAS A LONG BLOOMING SEASON?

Answer
You do not say where you are located (sagebrush = somewhere out west?).  Do a Google search for wildflower seed mix and select one for your area.

There is nothing easy about this!  You must start with a clean area: either by repeated tilling or herbicides, you must remove all existing vegetation.  The seed mix should include annual and perennial varieties so you should have some bloom the first year.

None of these mixes will persist for too many years.  Weeds and grasses will eventually intrude and take over.  If you will do some weeding, you can make the planting last longer.
