tree fern under watered

Question
I got an Australian tree fern about a week ago and transplanted it to a larger pot on an overcast and rainy day.  I watered it in good, but apparently it dried out on my front porch this week, and I discovered that its leaves had wilted today.  I watered it slowly until water streamed from the bottom today. Will it recover?

Answer
Brandy, tree ferns like shady areas and high humidity; they also need to be kept moderately moist. It sounds like your fern dried out on you in the pot (which can happen in one day, if the pot is in direct sun) and was getting to much sun. Move the fern to a shady location and maintain an evenly moist soil. Final advice, keep the fronds misted as often as you can, and it should respond for you..good luck Nick
