i bought a huge one of these least year,,,it has lost all its leaves,,it does get new ones,,the leaves turn a bit brown on the tips and eventually die,,i repotted it last week ,,it gets light but not direct light,,,i have long brown stems on it,,i thought it was rootbound,,,i bought another one,,its doing ok, im just so cautious ..it is getting new leaves also,,i feed it with miracle gro,,,but i do notice the very outermost leaves lack a bit of luster,,any suggestions

Answer
Hi Susan, I am surprised that it is giving you this much trouble, they are normally a very forgiving plant and very easy to maintain; they don't like direct light at all, so keep it in indirect light and moderately moist (not wet). Fertilize it with a high nitrogen fertilizer (soluble), about once a month and keep the leaves misted (mock humidity). That is about all you need be concerned about with the Philodendron, just remember to keep it out of direct light. Nick
