i want to bring my amaryllis plants indoors for the winter .but i also  want to put the in fresh soil .do i cut the geen leaves, and do i put them in the dark.

Hi Toni, wait until the leaves are yellow and drooping, then cut them back to an inch or so from the top; clean all the soil off the bulb, use water and soap and clean them good, then dry them real well and store them in a plastic bag with holes punched in the side in a cool, dark area where they need to sit for at least 6 weeks, then you can replant them, and they will bloom again.
