paper tree removal

Question
I live in the Tampa Bay area. I have a whole line of 'paper/punk trees' (I'm not sure of their official name)growing down the length of my side property line. These trees have to be 30 to 40 feet tall. I want to remove them and their stumps so I can replant. If I just cut down the tree and grind the stumps, which are hugh, I will not be able to replant nor put up a fence. My question: how difficult is it to pull up these stumps? What would be the best course of action on doing this? Would a PU and chain work or do I need something heavier? How deep/extensive are the root systems? My goal is to be able to replant on the property line. Thanks for any information or suggestions. Michael

Answer
If the stumps are as large as you say you will need a bulldozer to push up the stumps which is a large operation. Most tree root systems are extensive and the main stump area is deep a PU would not work. I would lean toward grinding the stumps and putting your fence post between the old stump locations and you should not have any problems Or you can replant in these areas also.
