QuestionI just moved into a new home, and while watering the trees planted on the boulevard, noticed that the maple had crawling catepillars and leaves that were chewed up. How would I treat this?
AnswerSpray the foliage with Bt or for a quicker control Orthene. Bt will have to be eaten by the caterpillars and Orthene is a contact insecticide. There are other insecticide that can also be used so check with your local nursery/garden type store and ask for an insecticide for caterpillar on trees.
