white poplar tree

Question
I have two poplar trees that I had planted 2-3 years ago that are about 30ish feet away from my house. After reading up on them(of course after the fact) I am reading that they are very invasive and that I should get rid of them. I do not want them to start uprooting into my lawn in a few years as my grass is only maybe 5-10 feet away from both of them. I also do not want them to get into my foundation etc. Should I get rid of them now and if so what is the best way to do that as I have read about the tree having a ton of suckers coming up after you saw the tree off. Or is the distance that I have them away from my house seem to be a safe distance? I do not want to have uprooting in a few years and they would be very easy to chop down now as they are maybe 10-14 feet tall? I am reading very bad things about these bueatiful tree.

Answer
30 feet is far enough from the house to not cause any problem. Usually the recomendation is 20 feet from a structure.

The invasive comes from its agressiveness in a forest situation. White poplar outcompetes many native tree and shrub species in mostly sunny areas, such as forest edges and fields, and interferes with the normal progress of natural community succession. It is an especially strong competitor because it can grow in a variety of soils, produce large seed crops, and resprouts easily in response to damage. Dense stands of white poplar prevent other plants from coexisting by reducing the amount of sunlight, nutrients, water and space available.

In a yard it will not be a problem.
