Newly planted Live oak trees

Question
We just recently planted 16 live oak trees about 10-15 feet tall girth is about 3-4 inches. I have noticed in the past week that one of the trees in particular has lost 80-90% of its leaves and there is a brown discoloration and a curling of the leaves.  I have pictures I can send this evening if needed but the tree seems like it has just taken a turn for the worse this past week and a half.

Any suggestions.

P.S. Trees have been in the ground for about 6wks and getting 20-30min of watered every other day.

Answer
Cut back on the water and water once a week with 1 inch of water--place a pan under the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop. Too much water is as bad as too little. Newly planted oaks sometimes do die back as they concentrate the growth on the root system. If you have not done so mulch around the tree with not more than 3 inches deep of organic mulch not piled up on the trunk. This will help hold moisture around the roots.
