premature acorn drop

Question
My 20 year old laurel oak is dropping acorns early this year. Last year seemed like a record year for acorns, judging by all the fat squirrels.  We are also at the end (hopefully) of a 3 year drought here in West Central Florida. I don't ever remember the tree dropping acorns this time of year before. They look perfectly formed, just tiny.  Should I worry about my tree?

Answer
Acorn take two tears to reach mature size. Weather plays a big part in how many reach maturity. These small ones are the first year acorns and for some reason (weather) they have aborted. This does not effect the health of the tree just the amount of acorns. Do not worry about this tree.
