watering new plantings

Question
Hi!
We just planted a row of 25 emerald green arborvitae (6'tall).  We watered each one after planting.  My questions are:
1. How often do I water them now?
2. Will a soaker hose placed down the row do the job?
3. When do I stop watering for the winter (e.g., after the 1st freeze?)?
Thank you for your help!!!  We don't want to lose these expensive shrubs.

Answer
Arasay,

You are going to have a fabulous hedge with these plants.

I would water 1" per week and the use of a soaker hose is ideal.

Your question about winter waltering is seldom asked.  I am of the opinion you need to water new plants until the ground freezes.  After the first year this is not as critical.

Good luck

Gary
