moving a camelia

Question
i have a large camelia in my garden, it is 7 feet tall and 6 feet wide.  i would like to move it to a different position, but am afraid that moving it would kill it.  do you think it would be okay to move or is it too risky?  i don't know the age of the plant because it was in the gardent when we moved here 4 years ago.  i haven't given it any particular care but it is very healthy.  i live in the south east. many thanks.

Answer
Dawn,
I would wait until the mid to late fall to move the camellia. 2-3 weeks before you plan to move it, fertilize it heavily, this will help ease any transplant shock that it could experience. Prune it down in the late summer-early fall to further help its survival chances, adn make sure to keep it watered after moving.
Good luck.
