wisteria pruning

Question
We have an established wisteria vine that runs along the top boarder of the back yard fence.  My husband has just gone wild pruning it and has cut it back to the point that all that is left is mostly the one main lateral branch.  All the little knobby old growth parts that bloomed last year are gone.  Will this recover and bloom again?  How long will it take?  Is there anything we can do to speed up how long it will take to bloom again?   Thanks in advance for your reply.

Answer
Jackie,

Wisteria is a very hardy and fast growing vine. The drastic pruning that your husband did will give you a chance to train the vine if you wish to. Do not be surprised if you see rapid growth in the spring and flowers next year.

Good luck.
