My Vine

Question
I have a question about a vine that i have just purchased. It is called a Aristolochia Littoralis. I am just curious if there are any ways you would reccomend planting this in a container. I have to plant it in a container in case i move. I also was wondering if there was a soil you can name to buy to fill it in with and also if there are any ways of avoiding pests on this. It is such a rare find where i live, that i want to make sure i am very careful in making it suvive. Where should i be looking at to do my daily pest searches. Under the leaves, in the soil?

Hopefully that all made sense.
Thanks for your time.

Answer
Lauren,

Do not move it to a container with more than a 4 inch larger diameter than the old one. The vine needs something to climb on. Since it is a tropical vine I would reccommend planting it in a mix of standard  potting soil and sand. It is tropical so it needs to go indoors when temps drop below 50 degrees.

You would look for insects on the fronts and backs of all leaves. The flowers have an oder of rotting flesh to attract insects for pollinating the flowers. The websites below have more info. Good luck.
