Burning Bushes

Question
I have 3 new burning bushes in my front yard that faces west.
They are in the shade, though, most of the day.
I water them twice a day. The leaves are brittle and are falling off.

Answer
Jamie,

There are two possiblities, transplant shock and/or mites. Check the plant for mite activity by shaking the branches over a sheet of white paper, if you see tiny black or red spots on the paper, then there are mites. If they are present, then treat with a miticide.

To try to overcome the transplant shock, put down some granular organic fertilizer around the bases and water it in. This should jump start the plants to put on new growth and improve overall health.

Good luck,
