Question
Every year I have these bugs on my roses - a tan colored flying beetle, thinner than a Jap. beetle, almost always in pairs, one on top of the other. They chew into the rosebuds and kill them before they open. I have to hand pick them several times a day to get any flowers. I am in Vermont. THanks.

Answer
Hi Barb,  Are you sure that it is not a Japanese Beetle?
If not, what size is it?  Are you spraying anything at all?
Ortho has some great products , as do Bayer.  Try one of them or both.........and let me know.  God bless,
