Rose leaves turning yellow

Question
My better half gave me for Valentines Day 10 climbing rose bushes. These are in the long plastic coverings and the stems were cut back.
Way to early to put out, so I put them in 2 storage containers, in the house. cool not hot room. I have watered them about once a week, sparelingly. All look great except one. Climbing
Red Fountain has about six shoots,  3 look fine other 3 are turning a pale yellow.  Help!
Also, living in NC, weather, how long can I keep in the house before putting outside. Do I need to peel back some of the plastic?
We just moved into an older home, big back yard,
think it would be lovely with 10 climbing roses on all the fencing in the back.  What would you suggest to go along with them? I have 2 butterfly bushes and 2 hydrangea.
Thank you for your time and knowledge.

Answer
Don't fret..........the bushes sound like they are fine, even the pale yellow shoots!  the lack of sun, etc.
As soon as you feel comfortable, go ahead and plant these babies, so they can have a head start.  Make sure you include some compost or organic humus in the plantins and go ahead and put in a little granular food for roses.  Mulch well.............

You could plant daylilies at their feet.........or any other perennial that needs at least 6 hours of sun.....
forsynthia is beautiful in the spring and undemanding.....
spirea and sedum are great choices also.........verbena works as a great creeping ground cover or periwinkle.
God bless, and  happy gardening!
