spider webs

Question
I have a table top rose bush which can be set out in the yard. I now have it in my sun room. I am finding spider webs from leaf to leaf and they have tiny specks in the webs. Can you tell me what it is and how to take care of the problem.
Thank
Elaine

Answer
Roses really prefer to be outside and the reason is because there of the dampness outside where inside the house it is very dry. Spider mites love dry conditions and will always be a pest on plants that are kept indoors. The first thing you can do is to spray water all over the rose until all the leaves are dripping wet. Do this daily for 5 days. As spider mites hate water and can't survive in it, they will abandon the rose plant. However these mites can sometimes be very difficult o get rid of because they are also in the house so you may have to use a systemic spray such as Orethene to get rid of them.
