Answer
Lisa,
I have no clue as to how to plant peanuts. I have never even seen anyone plant them.
But the Salvia microphylia is a wonderful perennial. It does well in zones 4 to 9,but I assume it can be grown in any zone. It is a good drought resistant perennial that tolerates full sun and poor soil conditions. The best way to start it though is in a good soil mix in a sunny bed where it will grow and spread.Just buy some bagged potting soil with plant food or if you don't have that then Miracle Gro plant food mixed with water is good to water it in well after planting. Then just keep the soil around it moist until it develops a few green new leaves. After that it is practically maintenance free. Good choice of perennial.Have a great spring season!
