i just bought a mertle tree and planted it in good soil with a mixture of a little manure and my native soil the leaves are turning brown what should i do thanks derrek

The only think to do is water it when it gets dry and wait until next years bloom cycle.You can prune it in the fall but do not prune it in spring.That will cut off all the buds that will open in summer. A transplanted tree needs a season to recover.I am sure it will perform for you next year.All you need now is patience.
