planting daylillies from bulbs

Question
when is the best time to plant daylillies from bulbs?

Answer
Hi Phillip,
Thanx for your question.  Daylilies do not grow from bulbs, they grow from rhizomes which are modified stems that grow underground.  Bearded irises and cannas also grow from rhizomes.  You can plant your daylily rhizomes in the spring after the last frost or in the fall at least 30 days before the first frost.  I think you will find this link useful.  http://www.daylilies.org/

I hope this helps.
Tom
