Transplanted Rose of Sharon

Question
Hi, we transplanted a 3-4 year old Rose of Sharon last fall when it went dormant.  It has not yet begun to leaf out and we are concerned that we killed it.  We were very careful in digging up the root ball and followed all the instructions for the transplanting.  I can't remember if these bushes are slow to leaf/bud or if we may have killed it.  Any thoughts?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Carol,
Thanx for your question.  Sometimes Rose-of-Sharon and other members of the hardy hibiscus family are slow to emerge in the spring especially if you've had some cold spells.  Give the plant two more weeks and if it has not leafed out by then, it is most likely dead.  I hope this helps.
Tom
