Groundcover that doesnt attract bees

Question
Can you advise me on a groundcover that won't attract bees?  I'm in Southern California

Answer
Hi Steve,
Thanx for your question.  This was kind of a hard one for me because most of the ground covers seem to have a lot to do with periodic or constant blooming or, they're invasive and not recommended for Southern California.

Several that I have seen recommended in Southern California gardening fora are myoporum parvifolium, mondo grass and prostrate rosemary.

The m. parvifolium blooms briefly in the spring and then is just evergreen ground cover after that.

Contact the UC-Davis Extension at the following links for Los Angeles, San Diego and Ventura counties for local recommendations that take into account California's unique and fragile ecosphere:

I hope this helps.
Tom
