Lily of the Nile

Question
I have six Lily of the Nile plants I bought about six weeks ago and planted in well drain soil. I even went as far as buying Miracle Grow smart water soil for them. I planted them in full sun like the card said. They were doing very well, even getting new flowers and now the foilage is turning yellow and some is even white. What am I doing wrong? I need help soon before they die completly.

Answer
Hi Lettie,
Thanx for your question. Has it been very hot and dry, windy?  If so, the plant needs to be watered frequently.  Under watering can be the primary cause of yellowing leaves.  Mulching around the plant can help retain moisture.  Sometimes, the plant will go into a semi-dormant or resting period in which some of its leaves will wither and the plant will stop blooming for a while as it rejuvenates, only to began producing new green leaves and blooms again.  Make sure you are watering frequently.  I hope this helps.
