moon plant

Question
we dug up a couple of the moon plants and were not able to get the roots, will these plants survive in dirt or a bucket of water until they re-root, if they will even root?

Answer
Hi Jean,
Thanx for your question.  If you didn't get the roots, I doubt if these plants are going to reroot.  I don't think there is anything from which they can reroot.  Most moon plants, if you're referring to datura or jimsonweed have a long taproot.  If you break that, they're going to die.  I hope this helps.
Tom
