Question
Hello, I have a medium size wooden barrel located in the southeast of our house and would like to know if I can plant a day lily in it and if I do will it come back each year without removing it each fall/winter?

Hi Dawn,
Thanx for your question.  I don't see why you couldn't plant day lilies in a wooden barrel.  And yes, they should come back every year.  I would place the barrel in a position where it does not get blasted by cold north winds in the winter, just to make sure.  Day lilies are pretty tough customers though so I think you should be okay.  I hope this helps.
