aspidistra elatior rhizome

Question
Hi Tom,

Thanks for taking the time to answer questions on allexperts.  I am a farmer in Guatemala (originally from Los Angeles), I am looking to purchase 20,000 "aspidistra elatior" rhizomes.  I am pretty sure it is not a perennial but since you have been in the business for so long and all around the country, I thought that maybe you would know where I can find those.

Take care
Joel

Answer
Hi Joel,
Thanx for your question.  This really isn't my area of expertise.  I'm just a horticutural hobbyist.  What you are asking after is professional and agricultural advice for which I am not qualified to answer.  I can suggest to you that you contact the University of California Extension Service and they may be able to refer you to wholesale growers or to some other resource.  Or the California Department of Agriculture.

Either one of these resources should be able to steer you into the right direction.  I hope this helps.
Tom
