Brassia Orchid flowering

Question
I have a Brsdm,Shooting Star x Brs.longissima
I have had it for 3 years and the plant is 8 years old.  There are 5 major
pseudobulbs. It has grown each year but no flowers.  I am in Edmonton,
Canada which is a long way North.  The orchid is in Sphagnum Moss (replaced
yearly) and located in a South facing window.  It is fertilized weekly with a
weak solution of Dyna-Gro 3-12-6 or 7-8-6.  Any ideas how to promote
flowers?

Answer
Tony, I have a couple of suggestions for things you might try.  About this time of year, the sun is shifting toward the north so, from now until fall, you are getting less and less light in the south window.  I suggest placing in a west window or, secondly, in an east facing window.  When danger of frost has lessened, I would place it outside in a partially shaded location. While I'm not quite as far north as you, You may have even milder weather then I do. I have had good success flowering both oncidiums and brassias when grown out for the summer.  They seem to appreciate  the cooler weather to kick them into flowering
