Phalaenopsis amabilis (Moon Orchid)

Question
I have what look like smaller leaves growing off the flower spike.  Are these
blooms to be or is the orchid making baby plants?  I'm not really acquainted with
orchids so I have no idea what to do.  Should i take these off somehow and plant
them or leave them alone?

Answer
Hello Cristina,

If they are small leaves growing off the flower spike, it probably is baby plants or keikis (Hawaiian for babies).  Leave them on the spike until there are several roots over 2 inches long then remove and put them in their own small pot.  When it comes time to remove them and you are not sure how to proceed, write back and I'll give you some instructions.

Hope this helped.
