wilting leaves-phanelopsis

Question
Hello,

I have a phanelopsis bought ca. 3 months ago. It was bloming then, but unfortunately the stem with flowers broke. It started to gromw a new one and presently it has new blooms, ready to open soon. It also started to start new roots (very short at the moment).

The problem is that leaves seem to be wilting; they are drooping and the lower ones are even wrinkled.

It was repotted 2 weeks ago, it's watered ca. every 10 days and was fertilized 1 and 2 weeks ago. It stands in light yet not sunny place, not near heater or anything like it.

What is wrong with it? What am I doing wrong?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Answer
Joanna, when you repotted did you check the condition of the roots?  Roots that are mushy are dead and should be removed. Leaves served by dead or damaged roots will droop and wrinkled and will be lost.  Also, you should be using a commmercial grade orchid potting mix when you repot.  The new root growth is a good sign and, eventually, those new roots will prodcue healthy new leaves. Feel free to add additional informaton or ask followup questions.
