orchis cut or not

Question
i read that you should cut the flower stem off before the last flower dies so it will reflower again, is this true?  thanks ka

Answer
Ka, no it is not true.  Phalaenopsis orchids can rebloom in one or more of three methods.  The first is that the flower spike may elongate and produce additional buds; the second is that you may cut the flower spike off above one of its nodes and that node may send off a branch flower apike. Some phalaenopsis naturally have their flower spike turn brown and die back after flowering.  That leads to the third type of reblooming: the production of a new flower spike from the base of the plant.  The latter occurs annually at blooming time.
